To celebrate the 80th birthday of renowned Canadian composer, writer and sound ecology visionary, R. Murray Schafer, New Works Calgary presents Montréal’s Molinari String Quartet in a performance of Schafer’s most recent String Quartets, numbers 9 to 12!
The six member Ensemble Transmission from Montréal includes the top exponents of new music performance. With pre-concert event Coast X Coast.
A trio of brilliant young musicians: Rosabel Choi (piano), Stacie Dunlop (soprano), and Andrea Neumann (violin). This newly-formed trio will present work by Canadians Brian Current and Hope Lee, and the captivating and formidable Kafka Fragments for voice and violin by György Kurtag.

One of Calgary’s foremost exponents of new Canadian chamber music and one of New Works Calgary’s resident ensembles, Ensemble Resonance will present a concert of new repertoire including world premieres of two works commissioned from Canadian composers David McIntyre and Chan Ka Nin.
