airborne extended was founded in 2013 and is a female Quartett for contemporary music consisting of the instruments harp, harpsichord/keyboard, flutes, recorders/Paetzoldflutes, with and without electronics and performance. The unusual combination of these instruments gives airborne extended the possibility to create a wide range of new sounds and colours that inspires both composers and the public all over the world. As part of the Austrian NASOM-program 2018/19 airborne extended is currently official Austrian cultural ambassador for contemporary music and presenting worldwide new works written for the Ensemble. Their repertory is constantly growing and includes music by many European composers such as Hannes Kerschbaumer, Paolo Rimoldi, Bernhard Lang, Manuela Kerer, Caroline Profanter,  Fernando Riederer, Wolfgang Mitterer, Bernhard Geigl, Elisabeth Harnik, Tomasz Skweres, Alexander Kaiser, Maurizio Azzan, Matthias Kranebitter, Margareta Ferek-Petric, Elisabeth Schimana, Arturo Fuentes, Mirela Ivicevic, Peter Jakober,  Anna Korsun, Stefano Gervasoni, Gabriele Manca, Mario Pisati, Giorgio Magnanensi, Doina Rotaru, Violeta Dinescu, Dmitri Kourliandski, Marina Poleukhina, Juan Pablo Trad Hasbun and many many more.
