Sean Clarke is an active performer and composer currently studying composition at the University of Calgary. After completing a Bachelor of Music at the University of Calgary Sean went on to complete a Master of Music in performance at the Royal Northern College of Music, England, with a minor in composition. While there he studied flute with Peter Lloyd and Michael Cox and composition with Anthony Gilbert. In Calgary his teachers have included flautist Gwen Klassen and composers David Eagle and Allan Bell.
His music has been broadcast on CBC National Radio and performed by the Land’s End Chamber Ensemble, Ensemble Resonance, Players Ensemble, the University of Calgary Orchestra and String Quartet, as well as being featured as part of the University of Calgary New Music Festival and the New Music in New Places concert series sponsored by the Canadian Music Centre.
