Nia Devetzis completed her Bachelor of Music with distinction in percussion performance and education with Rod Squance at the University of Calgary. As a teaching artist she is active in the community teaching band clinics, private lessons and performing as much as possible. At home in the orchestra, a pit band, and as a soloist, Nia is most often performing contemporary chamber music. She has a passion for inspiring and growing the musical culture of Calgary, particularly with its newest contemporary music group Timepoint, of which she is a core member. Her drive has led to performances in Calgary’s new music festival Forms of Sound, the Stratford Summer Music festival and solo engagements with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra and Calgary Wind Symphony. Nia is currently living in Calgary and completed a Master’s in Percussion Performance.
