Carlos D PeralesCarlos D. Perales (Úbeda, 1979), is a pianist, composer, conductor and researcher focused on the extension of the acoustic sound through the possibilities of the electronic expression and the human-computer interaction.

He finished piano, solfeggio, composition and conducting masters degrees at the Conservatoire of Seville, Granada and Valencia with distinction. In 1999 he obtained a scholarship granted by the Andalusia Government, finishing his studies of vomposition and vonducting at the University of Music and Dramatic Art of Vienna with Michael Jarrell and Leopold Hager. His works have been recognized by renowned composers such as Philippe Hurel, Dietmar Schermann, Luc Brewaeys, Jean Claude Risset, R. Normandeau, José Luís de Delas, José Luís Turina or Luís de Pablo. PhD in Visual Arts and Intermedia by Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (2011). His doctoral thesis was awarded in 2012 by the Social Council of the Polytechnic University of Valencia.

In 2003, the Arts Prize Award was granted to him by the Andalusian Government. He was also awarded at international contests such as Miniaturas Electroacústicas – Confluencias Composition Contest (Huelva, 2008), NexeDuet competition (Valencia, 2009), Laboratorio del Espacio LIEM-CDMC (Madrid, 2010), XXII Jóvenes compositres Composition Contest SGAE Fundación Autor-CNDM (Madrid, 2011), Rainy Days – Toy Piano World Summit (Luxembourg, 2012), Musica Nova (Prague, Czech Republic, 2012), Luigi Russolo (Annecy, France, 2012), Fundación Destellos (Argentine, 2013).

His works have been premiered at international festivals as CFA (Singapore 2006), Festival Internacional de la Imagen (Colombia, 2008), Synthese (Bourges, France 2009), IDKA, FYLKINGEN (Sweden, 2010), Primavera Electroacústica (la Habana – Cuba, 2010), Architectures Contemporaines (Marseille, France, 2011), Greece (CIME 2011), Musicacoustica – Beijin (CIME 2012), Audio Art (Krakove, Poland, 2012), Paris-Pantin (France, 2013), Florida International University – Miami (EEUU, 2013), Center for the Arts Casa das Mudas – Madeira (Portugal 2013), Deptford Town Hall – University of London (UK, 2013), Akousma (Canada, 2014).

Perales was a guest composer at Mixed Reality Lab at the Singapore National University and awarded with the ACM SIGCHI Research Award at the IDM Laboratory – ECE (2006). Guest composer at Musiques Recherches laboratory (Belgium), SARC (Valencia), Bilbao University and Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (Spain), Festival Sonoimágenes (UNLa-Argentine). Lecturer at spanish festivals such as Sinkro (Vitoria), Zeppelin (Barcelona), Off_herzios (Valencia), Punto de Encuentro (Valencia), Klem – Kuraia (Bilbao), etc. As composer he has a works catalogue that includes from soloist works to symphonic and large Opera. Commissioned by performers like KonArt, Kontakte, Smash ensemble, Grup Mixtour, Dars Ensemble, Plural ensemble, Taller Sonoro, X. Pestova, V. Trescolí, X. Giner, I. Alberdi, J. Elvira, D. Kientzy, etc.

He conducts ‘Pro-Arte Symphonische Orchester’ and ‘Ensemble Artistique’ in Vienna, Kammerorchester’ in Linz (Austria), as well as diverse ensembles in Austria, where some of their works are premiered. He has been a guest of the Spanish Embassy in Vienna in concerts organized by the Austria and Slovenia Embassies. He was guest Conductor by ‘Cor de la Generalitat Valenciana’. From 2002 to 2005 he was Assistant Conductor of ‘Jove Orquesta de la Generalitat Valenciana’, under the artistic direction of Manuel Galduf.

Since 2014 he has lectured in Composition & Electroacoustic music at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Castilla-la Mancha and at Master of Investigación Musical at UNIR (International University of La Rioja).
